Home Screen Overview

The home screen is your command center in the RouteMate app. It gives you a quick view of everything you need while driving — your current duty status, remaining hours, vehicle information, and easy access to all the app’s features.

Main Navigation

The app has five main tabs that you can access from any screen:

Tab	What It Does
Home	Your main dashboard with duty status, HOS clocks, and vehicle info.
Dispatch	View your assigned loads, trip details, and delivery information.
Menu	Access additional features like DVIR, Logs, Documents, and Settings.
Maps	See your current location on the map along with route information.
Co-Driver	Manage co-driver sessions if you are team driving.

Portrait vs. Landscape Layout

• Portrait mode (phone held upright): The five navigation tabs appear as a bottom tab bar at the bottom of the screen.
• Landscape mode (phone held sideways): The tabs move to a side rail on the left edge of the screen, giving you more horizontal space for the dashboard content.

Tip: Landscape mode can be especially helpful when you want to see more detail on your HOS clocks or when your phone is mounted horizontally in a dashboard holder.

Your Name and Profile

At the top of the home screen, you will see your name displayed prominently. This confirms you are logged in to the correct driver account. If you see someone else’s name, log out and sign back in with your own credentials.

Current Duty Status Box

The largest and most important element on the home screen is your current duty status box. It shows your active status in large, easy-to-read text with a color-coded background:

• Off Duty — Shown when you are not working.
• Sleeper Berth — Shown when you are resting in the sleeper berth.
• Driving — Shown when the vehicle is in motion (set automatically by the ELD or manually).
• On Duty (Not Driving) — Shown when you are working but not driving (loading, unloading, fueling, etc.).

To change your duty status, simply tap the status box. This opens the status selection screen where you can pick your new status.

Tip: The status box is intentionally large so you can read and tap it quickly without distraction. It is designed to be easy to use even with a quick glance.

Vehicle ID and Trailer / Shipping Docs Widgets

Below the duty status, you will find widgets showing:

• Vehicle ID — The unit number of the truck you selected at login. Tap it to view vehicle details or change your vehicle.
• Trailer — The trailer number you are currently hauling. You can tap to add or change the trailer number.
• Shipping Documents — Your bill of lading or shipping document number. Tap to add or update this information.

Note: Keeping your trailer and shipping document information up to date is important for accurate records and can be requested during a DOT inspection.

HOS Clocks

Below the vehicle widgets, you will see your Hours of Service countdown clocks. These show how much time you have remaining before hitting each HOS limit:

• Driving Time — Hours left before reaching your 11-hour driving limit.
• Shift Time — Hours left in your 14-hour on-duty window.
• Break Time — Time until a 30-minute break is required.
• Cycle Time — Hours left in your 60-hour or 70-hour cycle.

Each clock counts down in real time. As you get close to a limit, the clock color changes to warn you. For a detailed breakdown of each clock, see the HOS Clocks page.

The Menu Button — Additional Features

The center Menu tab gives you access to features beyond the main dashboard:

Feature	What It Does
DVIR	Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
Logs	View your daily log history and make edits or annotations.
Documents	Upload and manage documents like fuel receipts and bills of lading.
ELD Info	See details about your connected ELD device including firmware version.
DOT Inspection	Present your logs and ELD data to a DOT officer during a roadside inspection.
Settings	Configure app preferences, HOS rules, notifications, and more.
Maintenance	View and report vehicle maintenance issues.
About	See the app version and legal information.

Tip: During a DOT inspection, use the DOT Inspection option from the Menu to quickly display your logs in the format required by officers. This feature makes inspections faster and smoother.
