Generate detailed reports on speeding incidents across your fleet to support safety programs and compliance reviews.

Note: Speeding Reports are available for fleets operating in the USA region and require the Speeding feature to be activated. Contact your account administrator or RouteMate support to enable this feature.

Overview

Speeding reports give you a structured view of speeding activity across your fleet. Use these reports to identify high-risk drivers, track trends over time, and document your fleet’s safety efforts for insurance providers or regulatory reviews.

Available Speeding Reports

Top Speed Offenders Report (Overall)

This report ranks drivers by their overall speeding behavior over a selected period. It considers factors like total time spent speeding, average speed over the limit, and the number of incidents to produce an overall offender score.

The report includes:

• Driver name — The driver ranked by overall speeding severity.
• Total speeding time — Cumulative duration of all speeding events.
• Average speed over limit — The average amount by which the driver exceeded posted speed limits.
• Maximum speed recorded — The highest speed reached during the reporting period.
• Overall offender score — A composite score reflecting the severity and frequency of speeding.

Tip: Share this report with your safety team to focus driver coaching efforts on the individuals who pose the greatest risk.

Top Speed Offenders Report (By Speeding Events)

This report ranks drivers by the number of individual speeding events they accumulated over a selected period. Unlike the overall report, this one focuses purely on frequency rather than severity.

The report includes:

• Driver name — The driver ranked by number of speeding events.
• Number of speeding events — Total count of individual speeding incidents.
• Most common location — The area where the driver most frequently exceeded the speed limit.
• Most common time of day — When the driver’s speeding events tend to occur.

Tip: A driver with many low-severity events may benefit from different coaching than a driver with fewer but more extreme events. Use both offender reports together for a complete picture.

Speeding Events Summary Report

This report provides an aggregated summary of all speeding events across your fleet for a selected time period. It is designed to give you a big-picture view of your fleet’s speeding trends.

The report includes:

• Total speeding events — The total number of speeding incidents fleet-wide.
• Breakdown by severity — How many events fell into each severity category (low, medium, high, critical).
• Breakdown by vehicle or driver — Which vehicles and drivers contributed the most events.
• Trend comparison — How the current period compares to previous periods, so you can see whether your fleet’s speeding is improving or getting worse.

How to Generate and Export Speeding Reports

To generate a speeding report:

1. Navigate to Reports from the main menu.
2. Select the Speeding Reports section.
3. Choose the specific report you want to generate.
4. Set your filters:
   • Date range — Select the start and end dates for the report.
   • Drivers or Vehicles — Choose specific drivers or vehicles, or select all.
   • Groups — Optionally filter by group.
5. Click Generate Report to view the results.

To export a report:

1. After generating the report, click the Export button.
2. Choose your preferred format (CSV or PDF).
3. The file will download to your computer.

Tip: Export speeding reports as PDFs to include in your fleet’s safety documentation. Many insurance providers offer discounts for fleets that can demonstrate active speed monitoring programs.
