Safety Hub Overview
The Safety Hub is your centralized command center for camera-based fleet safety monitoring. It brings together real-time alerts, video footage, and live streams so you can proactively manage driver safety and reduce risk across your fleet.
What Is the Safety Hub?
Section titled “What Is the Safety Hub?”The Safety Hub is a dedicated area in RouteMate that collects and organizes all safety-related data from camera-equipped vehicles in your fleet. It gives you the tools to:
- Monitor safety events as they happen.
- Review video evidence of incidents and near-misses.
- Watch live video streams from vehicles on the road.
- Track safety trends over time to identify drivers or vehicles that need attention.
Note: The Safety Hub requires the Camera module to be activated for your account. If you do not see the Safety Hub in your navigation menu, contact your administrator or RouteMate support to enable this feature.
Available Features
Section titled “Available Features”The Safety Hub includes the following sections:
Safety Alerts
Section titled “Safety Alerts”Real-time notifications triggered by camera-detected events such as hard braking, distracted driving, or collisions. Each alert includes details about the event and links to the associated video clip.
Video Library
Section titled “Video Library”A searchable archive of all recorded video clips from your fleet cameras. You can browse clips by vehicle, date, or event type, and request new video downloads from any camera-equipped vehicle.
Live Streams
Section titled “Live Streams”Watch live video feeds from vehicles that are currently on the road. This is useful for monitoring active trips, verifying driver behavior, or checking on a vehicle after receiving an alert.
How the Safety Hub Helps Improve Fleet Safety
Section titled “How the Safety Hub Helps Improve Fleet Safety”The Safety Hub is designed to help you take a proactive approach to safety rather than reacting after accidents occur. Here is how it supports your safety goals:
-
Early detection — Camera-triggered alerts notify you of risky driving behavior in real time, so you can coach drivers before minor issues become serious incidents.
-
Evidence and accountability — Video footage provides an objective record of what happened during an event, which is valuable for internal reviews, insurance claims, and dispute resolution.
-
Trend analysis — Over time, you can identify patterns in safety events across your fleet, such as specific drivers who need additional training or routes that tend to produce more incidents.
-
Driver coaching — Use video clips as coaching tools during one-on-one sessions with drivers. Showing a driver exactly what happened is far more effective than a written description alone.
Tip: Make it a habit to review Safety Hub alerts at least once a day. Catching and addressing safety events quickly sends a strong message to your drivers that safety is a priority.
