Delivery Process

When you reach a delivery location, RouteMate walks you through the process of checking in, recording delivery details, uploading documentation, and confirming the delivery. The steps are similar to the pickup process, ensuring a consistent and complete record for every stop.

Make sure all previous stops on the load have been completed. Stops must be finished in order — you cannot mark a delivery as complete if an earlier stop is still open.

  1. Open the load from the Dispatch tab.
  2. Tap the delivery stop.
  3. Tap Check In to record your arrival.

This creates a timestamped record of when you arrived at the delivery facility.

Tip: Check in right when you arrive, even if you are waiting for an unloading dock. This documents your actual arrival time and any potential detention.

After checking in, a form will appear for you to enter delivery information. The fields are similar to the pickup form:

  • BOL (Bill of Lading) Number — Confirm or enter the document number.
  • Seal Number — Record the seal number (note if the seal was intact upon arrival).
  • Chassis Number — If applicable.
  • Weight — Confirm the freight weight.
  • Pallets — Number of pallets delivered.
  • Pieces — Total piece count delivered.
  • Empty Dropped / Loaded Picked Up — Track trailer exchanges at this stop.
  • Percent Loaded — How full the trailer is after unloading (often 0% for a full delivery).

The same verification checkboxes are available:

  • Trailers, Tires, Secured Freight, Signed BOL, Lumper Receipts, Escort, Damage

Note: If you notice any damage to the freight during unloading, check the Damage box and document it with photos. Report it to your dispatcher immediately.

You can attach up to 8 photos per stop. At delivery, consider photographing:

  • The signed proof of delivery (POD) or delivery receipt
  • The condition of the freight during unloading
  • Any damage observed
  • The empty trailer after unloading is complete

To upload:

  1. Tap Add Photo.
  2. Choose Camera to take a new photo or Gallery to select an existing image.
  3. Add as many photos as needed (up to 8).

When everything is recorded:

  1. Tap the Delivered button.
  2. A confirmation dialog will appear, warning you about any incomplete fields.
  3. Confirm to finalize the delivery.

Note: Marking a stop as Delivered cannot be undone. Verify that all information is correct and your photos are uploaded before confirming.

Once confirmed, the stop status changes to Delivered. If this was the last stop on the load, the entire load will move to your Completed Loads list.

From the load details screen, you can access any documents attached to the load by your dispatcher. These may include:

  • Bill of Lading (BOL) — The shipping contract document.
  • Delivery instructions — Special handling or timing requirements.
  • Rate confirmation or load tender — Details about the load agreement.
  • Expense records — Lumper fees, tolls, or other expenses logged against the load.

Tap on any document to view or download it.

Tip: Review the delivery instructions before you arrive at the facility. Some receivers have specific requirements for check-in, dock assignments, or paperwork that are easier to handle when you know about them in advance.
