ELD Reports
Generate detailed reports from your ELD data to track vehicle usage, driver performance, HOS compliance, and more.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”RouteMate provides a comprehensive suite of ELD-based reports that help you understand how your fleet is performing. These reports pull data directly from your electronic logging devices and organize it into clear, actionable summaries. Whether you need to track mileage, monitor idling, review HOS violations, or analyze driver behavior, there is a report for it.
Available ELD Reports
Section titled “Available ELD Reports”IFTA Mileage Report
Section titled “IFTA Mileage Report”Shows the total miles driven by each vehicle over a selected period. You can generate this report for all vehicles in your fleet or select specific vehicles.
- All Vehicles — A fleet-wide summary of mileage for every vehicle.
- Selected Vehicles — Choose one or more vehicles to see their individual mileage breakdowns.
Use this report for maintenance scheduling, lease tracking, or verifying odometer readings.
Vehicle Mileage Utilization Report
Section titled “Vehicle Mileage Utilization Report”Measures how effectively your vehicles are being used based on miles driven. This report helps you identify underutilized vehicles that may be costing you money sitting idle, as well as overworked vehicles that may need more frequent maintenance.
Vehicle Idling Utilization Report
Section titled “Vehicle Idling Utilization Report”Tracks idling time for each vehicle, showing how much time vehicles spend running without moving. Excessive idling wastes fuel and increases engine wear.
Tip: Use this report to identify drivers or vehicles with high idling times. Reducing idle time can have a significant impact on your fuel costs.
Vehicle Inactivity Report
Section titled “Vehicle Inactivity Report”Identifies vehicles that have been inactive (not driven) for extended periods. This report helps you spot vehicles that may be out of service, waiting for maintenance, or simply not being dispatched.
Vehicle Stops Report
Section titled “Vehicle Stops Report”Lists all stops made by each vehicle, including the location, duration, and time of each stop. Use this report to verify delivery stops, break compliance, and route adherence.
Unplugged Events Report
Section titled “Unplugged Events Report”Shows instances where the ELD was unplugged from the vehicle. Frequent disconnects may indicate device issues, tampering, or connection problems that need to be addressed.
Note: Unexpected ELD disconnects can be a compliance concern. Investigate frequent disconnects promptly.
Historical Location Report
Section titled “Historical Location Report”Displays the location history of your vehicles over a selected time period. You can trace the path a vehicle took on any given day, which is useful for verifying routes, investigating incidents, or responding to customer inquiries.
HOS Violations Report
Section titled “HOS Violations Report”Lists all Hours of Service violations detected for your drivers, including the type of violation, the driver involved, and when it occurred. Common violation types include exceeding driving limits, insufficient break time, and cycle hour overages.
Tip: Review this report regularly to catch compliance issues early. Addressing violations quickly helps protect your fleet’s safety record and CSA scores.
HOS Summary Report
Section titled “HOS Summary Report”Provides a high-level overview of Hours of Service data for your drivers, including total driving hours, on-duty hours, and remaining available time. You can generate this report for all drivers or select specific drivers.
- All Drivers — A fleet-wide HOS summary.
- Selected Drivers — Choose one or more drivers for a focused view.
Form and Manner Errors Report
Section titled “Form and Manner Errors Report”Identifies errors in driver log entries that do not meet FMCSA form and manner requirements. These might include missing locations, incomplete annotations, or other formatting issues that could be flagged during a roadside inspection or audit.
ELD Events Report
Section titled “ELD Events Report”Provides a detailed log of all ELD-recorded events, including duty status changes, engine power cycles, and diagnostic events. This report is useful for deep-dive investigations and audit preparation.
How to Generate and Export Reports
Section titled “How to Generate and Export Reports”To generate any ELD report:
- Navigate to Reports from the main menu.
- Select the ELD Reports section.
- Choose the specific report you want to generate.
- Set your filters:
- Date range — Select the start and end dates for the report.
- Vehicles or Drivers — Choose specific vehicles or drivers, or select all.
- Groups — Optionally filter by group to focus on a specific terminal or team.
To download a report:
- Click the Export button.
- Choose your preferred format (CSV or PDF).
- The file will download to your computer.
Tip: Schedule regular report generation — for example, weekly HOS violation reviews or monthly mileage summaries — to stay on top of fleet performance.
Note: Large reports covering many vehicles or long date ranges may take a moment to generate. You will see a loading indicator while the report is being prepared.
