Adding Documents
You can upload documents directly from the RouteMate app. This is useful for keeping fuel receipts, photos, and other records organized and accessible to both you and your fleet manager.
How to Upload a New Document
Section titled “How to Upload a New Document”- Open the Menu and tap Documents.
- Tap the Add button (usually a ”+” icon).
- Select the document type you want to upload.
Document Types
Section titled “Document Types”Fuel Receipts
Section titled “Fuel Receipts”If you are uploading a fuel receipt, you will be asked to enter the following details:
- Date — the date of the fuel purchase.
- Time — the time of the purchase.
- State — the state where you fueled up.
- Gas Station Name — the name of the station.
- Gallons — the number of gallons purchased.
- Price — the total cost.
- Notes — any additional details you want to include (optional).
Other Documents
Section titled “Other Documents”For other document types:
- Select the type from the available options.
- Enter any required details based on the type you selected.
Attaching a Photo
Section titled “Attaching a Photo”Every document upload requires a photo or image attachment. You have two options:
- Take a Photo — Use your device’s camera to snap a picture of the receipt, document, or item on the spot.
- Choose from Gallery — Select an existing photo from your device’s photo library.
Note: A photo is required for all document uploads. You will not be able to submit the document without attaching an image.
Selecting a Vehicle
Section titled “Selecting a Vehicle”Before submitting, you will also need to select the vehicle associated with this document. If you are currently assigned to a vehicle, it may be pre-selected for you. Otherwise, choose the correct vehicle from the list.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”The first time you take a photo or choose from your gallery, the app will ask for permission to access your camera and photo library. Make sure to tap Allow when prompted.
- Camera permission — needed to take photos of documents.
- Photo library permission — needed to select existing images from your device.
Tip: If you accidentally denied permission, you can update it later in your device’s settings. See App Permissions for instructions.
