General Settings
The General settings tab lets you manage your vehicle assignment, account details, language, and app appearance.
Accessing Settings
Section titled “Accessing Settings”- Open the Menu by tapping the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Make sure you are on the General tab.
Vehicle Information
Section titled “Vehicle Information”This section shows the vehicle you are currently assigned to. You can see the vehicle’s name, unit number, and other identifying details.
To change your vehicle:
- Tap on the vehicle information section.
- Browse or search the list of available vehicles.
- Select the new vehicle you want to assign yourself to.
- Confirm the change.
Note: Changing your vehicle also affects your ELD connection. You will need to connect to the ELD device in the new vehicle after switching. See Selecting Your Vehicle for more details.
ELD Exempt Status
Section titled “ELD Exempt Status”If you are not required to use an ELD (for example, due to a short-haul exemption or other regulatory exception), you can toggle the ELD Exempt status here.
- On — You are exempt from ELD requirements. The app will not require an ELD connection.
- Off — You are required to use an ELD (this is the default for most drivers).
Note: Only enable this if you are truly exempt under federal or state regulations. If you are unsure, check with your fleet manager.
Password
Section titled “Password”You can change your login password from this section.
- Tap Password or Change Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password.
- Confirm the new password by typing it again.
- Tap Save or Update.
Tip: Choose a strong password you can remember. You will need it to log in to the app and to authorize DOT Inspection mode during roadside inspections.
Language
Section titled “Language”Select your preferred language for the app. RouteMate is available in:
- English
- Spanish
- Russian
- Hindi
- Serbian
Tap on the language option and choose from the list. The app will update to the selected language immediately.
Control how the app looks with the theme setting. You have three options:
- Auto — The app automatically switches between light and dark mode based on sunrise and sunset at your location. During the day you get the light theme, and at night it switches to dark.
- Light — The app always uses the light color scheme.
- Dark — The app always uses the dark color scheme.
Tip: If you drive at night, try the Dark theme to reduce eye strain and screen glare in the cab.
