User Settings

Customize your RouteMate experience by adjusting notifications, display preferences, dashboard layout, and more.

To open your user settings:

  1. Click on your profile icon or name in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Your user settings apply only to your account and do not affect other fleet managers in your organization.

Control how and when you receive notifications:

  1. Navigate to the Notifications section of your settings.
  2. For each notification type, choose your preferred delivery method:
    • In-App — Notifications appear in the notification bell on the dashboard.
    • Email — Notifications are sent to your registered email address.
    • Both — Receive notifications through both channels.
    • Off — Disable notifications for that type entirely.
  3. Click Save to apply your preferences.

Tip: Keep critical alerts like HOS violations and ELD disconnects enabled via email so you are notified even when you are not actively using the dashboard. You can turn off less urgent notifications to reduce inbox clutter.

Choose how the dashboard looks:

  1. Navigate to the Display section of your settings.
  2. Select your preferred theme:
    • Light Mode — A bright interface with light backgrounds. Best for well-lit environments.
    • Dark Mode — A darker interface that reduces eye strain in low-light environments and may help conserve battery on some devices.
  3. Click Save to apply the change. The dashboard will update immediately.

Customize which widgets appear on your dashboard home screen:

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard section of your settings, or use the widget configuration option directly on the dashboard.
  2. Choose which widgets to display. Available widgets may include:
    • Fleet map overview
    • Active drivers summary
    • HOS compliance snapshot
    • Recent alerts
    • Speeding events summary
    • Vehicle status overview
    • Dispatch status
  3. Arrange widgets in the order and layout you prefer.
  4. Click Save to apply your dashboard layout.

Tip: Customize your dashboard to show the information most relevant to your role. If you primarily manage compliance, prioritize HOS and log-related widgets. If you focus on dispatch, put the dispatch and map widgets front and center.

Set default filters so the dashboard and reports automatically show the data most relevant to you:

  1. Navigate to the Defaults section of your settings.
  2. Set your preferred defaults:
    • Default Group — If you primarily manage one group (for example, a specific terminal), set it as your default so the dashboard and reports are pre-filtered to that group.
    • Default Date Range — Choose whether reports default to today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days, or another range.
    • Default Vehicle or Driver View — Set whether lists default to showing all items or a specific subset.
  3. Click Save to apply your defaults.

Tip: Setting a default group is especially helpful if you manage a large fleet but only oversee one terminal or region. It saves you from having to select the same filter every time you open a page.

RouteMate supports multiple languages for the web dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Language section of your settings.
  2. Select your preferred language:
    • English
    • Spanish (Espanol)
    • Russian
    • Hindi
  3. Click Save to apply. The dashboard interface will switch to the selected language.

Note: Language settings apply to the dashboard interface only. Report data, driver names, and user-entered content will appear as originally entered regardless of your language setting.

To update your password:

  1. Navigate to the Security section of your settings.
  2. Click Change Password.
  3. Enter your current password to verify your identity.
  4. Enter your new password. Choose a strong password that:
    • Is at least 8 characters long.
    • Includes a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
    • Is not the same as a previously used password.
  5. Confirm the new password by entering it again.
  6. Click Save to update your password.

Tip: If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login screen to receive a password reset email.

Note: For security, RouteMate may periodically prompt you to update your password. Using a unique, strong password helps protect your account and your fleet’s data.
