GPS Reports
Generate reports based on GPS tracking data for your vehicles and assets, including mileage, stops, idling, and environmental monitoring.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”GPS reports use data from GPS tracking devices installed on your vehicles and assets. These reports are especially useful for tracking non-ELD-equipped vehicles, trailers, and other assets. If your fleet includes a mix of ELD-equipped trucks and GPS-tracked assets, GPS reports give you full visibility into the assets that ELD reports do not cover.
Vehicle GPS Reports
Section titled “Vehicle GPS Reports”GPS IFTA Mileage Report
Section titled “GPS IFTA Mileage Report”Shows total miles driven by GPS-tracked vehicles over a selected period. Use this report to track mileage for vehicles that may not have an ELD installed or to cross-reference with ELD mileage data.
GPS Vehicle State Report
Section titled “GPS Vehicle State Report”Displays the operational state of GPS-tracked vehicles over time, showing when each vehicle was moving, stopped, or idle. This provides a timeline view of vehicle activity throughout the day.
GPS Vehicle Idling Report
Section titled “GPS Vehicle Idling Report”Tracks how much time GPS-tracked vehicles spend idling. Idling wastes fuel and increases wear on engines, so this report helps you pinpoint opportunities to reduce costs.
Tip: Compare idling data across drivers and routes to identify patterns. Some routes may naturally involve more idling due to traffic or loading dock wait times.
GPS Vehicle Utilization Report
Section titled “GPS Vehicle Utilization Report”Measures how effectively your GPS-tracked vehicles are being used. This report shows the ratio of active driving time to total available time, helping you identify underused vehicles in your fleet.
GPS Vehicle Historical Location Report
Section titled “GPS Vehicle Historical Location Report”Traces the path of GPS-tracked vehicles over a selected date range. You can see exactly where a vehicle traveled, which is useful for verifying routes, investigating incidents, or confirming delivery locations.
GPS Vehicle Stops Report
Section titled “GPS Vehicle Stops Report”Lists every stop made by a GPS-tracked vehicle, including the location, arrival time, departure time, and duration of each stop. Use this to verify service calls, delivery schedules, or break patterns.
Asset GPS Reports
Section titled “Asset GPS Reports”GPS Asset Distances Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Distances Report”Shows total distances traveled by your GPS-tracked assets (such as trailers and equipment) over a selected period. This helps you understand how frequently your assets are in motion and how far they travel.
GPS Asset Inactivity Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Inactivity Report”Identifies GPS-tracked assets that have been stationary for extended periods. Use this report to find trailers or equipment that may have been forgotten at a location, are awaiting pickup, or are out of rotation.
Tip: Set up a regular review of the Asset Inactivity report to make sure none of your trailers are sitting unused at a customer site longer than expected.
GPS Asset Door Openings Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Door Openings Report”Records when doors on GPS-tracked assets are opened and closed. This report is valuable for verifying loading and unloading activity, monitoring cargo security, and confirming delivery events.
GPS Asset Environment Sensor Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Environment Sensor Report”Displays data from environmental sensors attached to GPS-tracked assets, such as temperature and humidity readings. This is critical for fleets hauling temperature-sensitive cargo like food, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals.
Note: Environment sensor reports require compatible sensor hardware installed on your assets. Contact RouteMate support if you need help setting up environmental monitoring.
GPS Asset Beacon Trips Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Beacon Trips Report”Tracks trips for assets using beacon-based GPS tracking. This report shows trip start and end locations, distances, and durations for beacon-equipped assets.
GPS Asset Mileage Utilization Report
Section titled “GPS Asset Mileage Utilization Report”Measures how effectively your GPS-tracked assets are being used based on mileage. This report helps you identify trailers and equipment that are underutilized, so you can make better decisions about fleet sizing and asset allocation.
How to Generate and Export GPS Reports
Section titled “How to Generate and Export GPS Reports”To generate a GPS report:
- Navigate to Reports from the main menu.
- Select the GPS Reports section.
- Choose the specific report you want to generate (vehicle or asset).
- Set your filters:
- Date range — Select the start and end dates.
- Vehicles or Assets — Choose specific units or select all.
- Groups — Optionally filter by group.
To download a report:
- Click the Export button.
- Choose your preferred format (CSV or PDF).
- The file will download to your computer.
Tip: GPS reports can be generated for custom date ranges, so you can pull weekly, monthly, or quarterly summaries depending on your needs.
